Ryan Holmquist is a lifelong Kansan with deep ties to the Salina area. He is the fifth generation and owner in the Holmquist family farm and ranch in nearby Smolan, Kansas.
After graduating from Bethany College and the University of Kansas, Ryan maintained his community ties, beginning a career of teaching choir at Salina Central High School. He has been teaching for the past twelve years.
In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Ryan has served on the Bethany College Alumni Council and the Bethany Teacher Advisory Board. He currently serves as a mentor to student teachers and held a leadership position on the North Central District of the Kansas Music Educators’ Association.
Ryan continues to work with his parents and his brother, running and maintaining the family farm, Holmquist Ag Enterprises.
As a proud resident of Salina and a leader in his community, Holmquist is committed to ensuring Salina and its residents thrive. He chose to run for the Kansas Legislature in House District 69 to help working Kansans and their families. Ryan believes in building a Kansas that rewards hard work and will strive to get real sales tax relief for working Kansans -- particularly the food sales tax, one of the highest in the nation.
